System Administrator

Position Details:

The System Administrator is responsible for handling the daily operations and administration of the IT server infrastructure. The System Administrator performs a wide variety of duties which include, but are not limited to, analysis, installation, modification, documentation, maintenance, problem diagnosis, and repair of server and endpoint technology hardware and software. The position also provides hardware and software technical guidance to onsite users.


  1. Windows 7/10 – Deploy and troubleshoot endpoint applications and solutions
  2. Provision and support Linux-based servers for development teams
  3. Provide technical support to users
  4. Support Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 in a highly virtualized VMware ESXi environment Focused on: Active Directory, Group Policies, WSUS
  5. Support Exchange Server 2016 environment. SharePoint administration background is a plus
  6. Build, manage, and maintain the operating systems and hardware for enterprise computing infrastructure
  7. Maintain and understand systems, regulatory requirements, and security interdependencies of hosting systems
  8. Contribute to and maintain security posture across the enterprise in accordance with company policies
  9. Actively participate in hardware and software configuration management processes
  10. Document processes and procedures
  11. Recommend and implement, where possible, automated approaches for server and system administration tasks
  12. Monitor and maintain firmware levels on server and storage components across the enterprise
  13. Monitor systems and provide information on system outages, resource issues, security events, and hardware alerts

Required Skills:

  • Basic to Moderate Experience with
    • Networking
      • TCP/IP and associated protocols
      • Wired Ethernet
      • Managed switch configuration (IOS a plus)
      • VLANs
    • Network and information system security
    • Virtualization
    • Providing technical support to end-users
  • Demonstrated Experience with
    • Windows domain administration
      • Active Directory configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance
      • Account management of users and groups
      • Group Policy administration
    • Linux server administration (primarily Ubuntu and CentOS)
      • Deployment, troubleshooting, maintenance
      • Package management
      • Firewall configuration
      • Network monitoring
    • Automation via scripting for multiple operating system environments, including: PowerShell, Perl or Python, Bash
  • Strong communication and organizational skills as well as technical troubleshooting skills

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting most aspects of ESXi and vCenter
  • Experience with Exchange and/or SharePoint administration
  • Experience with centralized configuration management (Chef, Ansible, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Defense Security Services (DSS) procedures and processes
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53

Minimum Education Required: 4 year degree

3+ years minimum experience required.

U.S. Citizenship and an active U.S. Security Clearance   is required.
