UCIM OVERVIEW
Universal Communications Integrated Module (UCIM) integrates radios and command/control components such as workstations, servers, intercoms and telephones into any military platform. Via UCIM, a Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) can be set up as a company headquarters command and control nexus. Via UCIM, that vehicle can control up to 24 other outfitted LAVs.

Aeronix, Inc. is a key technical and managerial contributor in the end-to-end development and successful demonstration of the UCIM system, and provides UCIM modules and integration services for mobile ground and airborne applications.

UCIM BACKGROUND
The UCIM system enables multiple operator access to and control of all communications, RF, computers, C2 applications, sensors and gateway assets in the system. UCIM-configured platforms are based on open standards, an advantage providing interoperability with existing systems including legacy radios and emerging JTRS radio systems.

A leading contributor to the net-centric system architecture design, Aeronix also designed and developed 5 of the 6 core modules in the UCIM system including the Basic Remote Controller (BRC) module.

Aeronix also served as one of the primary contractors for system integration, and successfully completed two major system demonstrations: the Limited Assessment for LAV at Quantico in July 2004, and the Limited User Evaluation (LUE) occurred at the Marine Corps Air Station New River.

During the LUE, the UCIM was successfully demonstrated on three platforms, including the LAV, the HMMWV (High Mobility Multi-Wheeled Vehicle), and the UH1 Huey helicopter.
